Another class assignment, this time with one of the statues in Grant Park. I decided to continue it on to the next page, so I’ve also posted some detail pics since my camera can only fit so much in one image.
Went to the Lincoln Park Zoo the other day and drew some animals for a class assignment. I’m pretty sure the pygmy hippo and the bali mynah were flirting with me o_0
Yep, gonna participate in Nanowrimo this year! I’m going to spend most of October planning this out, but I’ve basically boiled some ideas down to 2: one about animals in the city, and the other about superheroes.
I want to challenge myself as a writer as well as challenge the notion that certain topics can only be presented in certain media. More specifically, animals in literature can only appeal to children or young adults, and superhero stories can only be expressed in comic book format.
I’ll update in a few days with some loglines and summaries for both stories, just to get the ball rolling, and hopefully by 14th I can start cranking out some outlines for the novel.
Just stumbled across this blog today and I am now going to check it each and every day for the foreseeable future <3 It also showcases more than just animals, delving into such lovelies as stinkhorns, jabuticabas, and sea squirts.
Also, thanks to this, I found out that pack-hunting venomous spiders are real. Thank God I don’t live in the tropics anymore.
